Shake Things Up!
It was a Wednesday and in the middle of a school and work week. My son had had 2 hard tests at school and I was tired from work and everything else. So I surprised him and said let’s go to the movies, his most favorite thing to do. He couldn’t believe it! He said really, now? It’s Wednesday! I said yes now! We need a break! He happily said yes let’s go! So we went to see, “Game Night.” It was a great, funny and suspenseful movie! It really helped us decompress and recharge our batteries for the rest of the week!
So my suggestion for this Spring is to shake things up! You don’t need to wait until the weekend to do fun things! It’s okay to take a break during the week and recharge your batteries. Go to the movies like we did, or to the beach, or out to dinner! The world isn’t going to collapse if you are taking a break for a few hours! I know we tell ourselves oh no, we have too much to do. What will people think if we go to movies right now? On a Wednesday? I say, who cares?! Be an example for your friends and family who are stressed right now and getting a thousand things done. Be the one who takes care of yourself! Decompress, recharge, and feel energized! These are just some of the few benefits of what happens when you take a break from the craziness of a week!
I challenge you this Spring! Do this once and you will see how good it is! Schedule it if you have to do so. Go alone, with a friend or your family. It is all okay! You will feel so much better! I know I did! I woke up refreshed and ready for my full day of work on Thursday and hey, tomorrow is Friday already woot, woot!! Let me know what you tried and how it worked for you!
